About Blacksburg Battles Cancer

 

Mission Statement:

The Blacksburg Country Club Charitable Foundation is dedicated to raising funds for cancer-focused, non-profit organizations that serve the local community. These organizations shall engage in research to prevent, treat, or cure cancer and/or provide supportive services to cancer patients and their families.

 

The Women's Golf Association (WGA) of Blacksburg Country Club sponsored the highly successful Rally for the Cure golf tournament from 2005-2012, raising more than $50,000 for breast cancer education through the Rally and research and community programs through Susan G. Komen For The Cure.
 

Cancer is ever present in our community. With a determination to do more, the Blacksburg Country Club Charitable Foundation was formed, and our first Blacksburg Battles Cancer golf tournament was held in 2013. The first two beneficiaries were the Virginia Blue Ridge Chapter of Susan G. Komen for the Cure and Special Love, Inc. During the past nine years (2013-2021), almost $250,000 has been raised for cancer charities.
